
Colson Baker(born on April 22 on the 22nd of April, 1990) popularly referred to as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He is noted for his duality of genres that span hip hop.Machine Gun Kelly released four mixtapes in the period between 2007 and 2010 prior to signing with Bad Boy Records. In 2012 the singer released Lace Up the first studio album. It peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200. It included his breakout single "Wild Boy" that was performed by Waka Flame. General Admission (2015) and Bloom 2017 were his second and third albums. The latter featured the smash single "Bad Things" and was sung by Camila Cabello. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album he released in his fourth, Hotel Diablo, was the first album of rap rock. In the year 2020, Machine Gun Kelly's fifth album entitled Tickets to My Downfall (2020) came out. It marked a break from hip-hop, and a shift to pop punk. The single "My Ex's Best Friend" debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200. It was the first album by a rock artist to achieve that position. It was followed up by Mainstream Sellout (2022) and was a the same commercial success. He's since been featured in the thriller Nerve (2016) as well as the horror Bird Box (2018) and the comedy Big Time Adolescence in addition to the biopic The Dirt (both 2019).
